CDC spent last week ensuring that their new class has been trained up and certified as New Open Water Divers. The class has worked very hard, they were successful in their training. Congrates to the new students.
CDC, has started training in TRIMIX with two students. Saturday morning was spent proving skills, which had the two students working on S Drills, V Drills, Donning and Doffing of stage cylinders….and of course…don’t forget the end dive lift bag deployment.Â
Anyone interested in Tec Deep, or Tec Trimix, should get in contact with Tony, as technical dive training is on going…and the right package can be arranged for you!

CDC has commenced their latest Professional Dive Instructors course. The latest course has 7 students, with one student join late as he is currently down in South America. Tony’s crew will be working through their Open water Diver Program this week, and all of the students will be certified as Open water Divers by weeks end.
If you happen to be out and about in the Sechelt area diving, and you run across this crazy crew….be sure to say hi and wish them luck with their training!!!

Looking for a Specialty Course, this month PADI is offering the Search and Recovery as their Specialty course for the month. Lost something over board….dropped your wallet off the pier, something small, or large. The Search and Recovery Course will teach search patterns, safe ways to do lifts, use of lift bags and some rope work.
CDC and Suncoast Diving once again out in the Sechelt Inlet doing their thing. A class of Deep and Nitrox were put through their steps, making sure that the diver was safe working at depth and on NITROX.Â
HMCS Chaudiere once again proved to be an excellent training ground. Dive one consisted with a “timed test” as well, showing the affects of depth and pressure on a collapsible object, plus the 8 minute hang at 15 feet for simulated decompression.Dive Two, was more of a fun dive, where Tony the Course Director of CDC lead the tour with two amazing swim through on the Chaudiere.Â
Overall the dives were great!! If you are looking for some training….be sure to stop by Suncoast Diving and Canada Dive College for all your training and equipment needs!!

Ok, so I figure there was nothing that Tony could not do…but I am not sure how he got the dolphins into the inlet like that. So, there we were, the idea started Friday….lets do diving with the dolphins…so off the Zodiac went early Friday morning with Tony and Kit…and sure enough, later that afternoon the boys made it back to Suncoast Diving….with grins from ear to ear.
Yup….the dolphins decided to play with them…..so after the completion of our IE…Tony and Ruth invited a bunch of us out on the Atria Star to see if we could get the chance to dive with the dolphins again. We set sail around 1 this afternoon…destination 9 mile point or so. As we approached they were no where in site….so we continued to steam towards the Power Lines…but there was still nothing. We started to make plans to drift dive the narrows…when Kits eagle like eyes, found our friends frolicking off the starboard side. There was a furry of activity as everyone suited up ready for the entry. Tony brought us ahead of the pod….cut the engines…and in we went.Â
I personally had the opportunity to swim with these amazing creatures though it was only for about 8 minutes it felt like hours…as there were no less then 7 zipping, swirling and dancing in front of me….feet then inches away. Though I wanted to reach out and touch these amazing creatures….I resisted….as I was there as an observers…and that is all I did. In the end it was easily the most amazing thing to experience.
Tony…Ruth thank you so much for the Graduation Gift!!!Â
