Wreck Diving on the KHRAM: Pattaya

HTMS KHRAMNot even 24 hours had passed from the bus ride from hell, and we are in the dive shop at Aquanauts booking some dive trips, renting the classroom, and training DM Mike in Nitrox diving.  Siggy and I had to get into the water, so Sunday had a trip headed out to the KHRAM, sunk out off the outer islands here in Pattaya.

Once again, Aquanauts did an amazing job getting things all set up for our trip.  They picked us up on time from the guest house, and got us down to the center, where much to my surprise I met up with Cedric Verdier’s and if you are not sure who thatHTMS KHRAM is…be sure to check out the links on the right menu bar.

Two hour boat ride later and we were ready to jump in and get a diving.  The current was ripping, and due to  a small error in judging the tides, we found ourself in the marathon swim to the decent line…which for this fella, we a little much.  Once on the decent line we sorted our selves out and headed down.  Vis was relatively good…and there were plenty of fish to see.  Overall I would have to say the dive was ok…but certainly not our best.  We are headed out again tomorrow to finish Mike’s Nitrox course….and we are diving the Hard Deep….be sure to check back and see how that turns out.

Web Site Update

Since things have slowed down a bit for me, I have been able to update the website some.  The Padi/SDI TDI jobs boards are up to date.  As well, I have decided to expand the Dive forms, and with that being said I am looking for one or two volunteers who would be interested in assisting with Job Updates and form moderation.  So if you are interested be sure to let me know.

Dive Cambodia….

Lion FishThe last three months has been spent diving our butts off in Cambodia. I am very pleased to report…though the visibility is not what you may expect from a tropical location, there is an abundance of life. Many many small creatures to see. However with that being said, I certainly would not spend thousands of dollars on a dive vacation to this destination.

Lion Fish SmallThe locals here are wonderful people, and culturally this is an interesting place, though I think I like Thailand better. During my travels here I have met and instructed some wonderful people, Ana from Spain, Will and Amy from the UK, all the crazy Canadians, and Michelle and Vicky….and my most enjoyable course was with my wife Susanne…as it is really fun to dive with her.

The staff I have been working with have been great fun. If you ever run into Siggy, Martijn, Mike andFabilinna Paul, be sure to take a course with them…as they are great instructors and or Divemasters!

The images in this post were taken by Martijn, and as you can tell his passion is Underwater Photography. Enjoy
