Want to see something added to our site, be sure to let me know.

Pipers Point

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Sam and I were out on the boat today with two other instructors who were from Finland.  The inlet was all fogged in, air crisp and the water is so cool!!  We pulled in to the back side of Pipers and set the anchor in about 18 feet of water.  Once the customers were dress and into the water, Sam and I prepared for our dive.

Sam was giving the new Uwatec Sol dive computer a try.  The display is massive and with it on her wrist her entire arm was lost.  I could even read it from a distances!!  I had my camera as always…snapping away, trying to get more images into the Marine Life of the Pacific Northwest section her on the website.

I lucked out, Sam found a Longfin Gunnel, a hermit crab, and I found a Rock Fish in a chimney sponge, which Longfin Gunnel for some reason I love taking pictures of.  The visibility is crystal clear and easily at about 100 feet.  There is about a 5 – 10 foot layer of fresh water on the surface which makes the safety stop very cold…but it is a good trade off for the visibility!!

Looking to get out on the inlet?? Be sure to stop by Suncoast Diving….they are always headed out for diving, we would love to see you there!!

Another Busy Day of Training!!

img_1187_sm.jpg UWE, and Suncoast Diving were out in Tuwanek, three courses running.  We had a Rescue Course with 4 students, Drysuit Course with 1, and then 2 on the PADI Advanced Course.  It is easy to tell that we are into the fall diving season, as water temperatures are dropping, and visibility is opening way way up….with it being crystal clear from depth to the surface.

Sam had the Drysuit and Advanced course out, with her completing the first dive for the dry suit student, and then she worked on the Navigation Dive for the Advanced course.  Its a good thing that everyone was in drysuits as the surface temperature is at 50 and dropping…though Sam reported she found a patch of 48 ou there!! Brrrr!!!

I had the 4 Rescue course on the go…where we were working on the top 10 confined skills….with being successful in completing them all with the exception of the response from shore…which we will be able to complete in tomorrows trianing session.

Well dune to all the students for their hard work and understanding that even though they are all excited about getting underwater…and exploring….in order to be successful the skills must be completed!!
