Uwe is very excited to announce that we have successfully completed the Course Director Training Course that was conducted in the Dominican Republic in early July. The course was very well run, and we learned so many new things. It is refreshing to be able to train with so many very professional people, seeing different ways to do things, and learning from the Lead staff from PADI. I personally met James Morgan, Alan Jan Johnney Wetzstein.
There was certainly a lot of work to be completed in a short amount of time, but we went prepared and things seemed to go without a hitch. If I had to do it all over again, I would certainly walk down the same path in the same way. We have been instructors for PADI, SDI, TDI and SSI. If we are honest with ourself, we can admit that truly the best training out there is PADI. This can be said because with each training agency I crossed over to, in order to work at various dive centers, the recurring thing that was said to us was to teach the whatever course we were teaching like a PADI course and we would be ok. So if that is the situation, why not simply teach the PADI Programs.
UWE and Ocean Quest Dive Centre are very excited to announce we have four new PADI Assistant Instructor graduates. Robert, Amy, Bryan and Greg are in the process of completing their Instructor Development Course in preparation for conducting their PADI Instructor Examination.
The course started up last Tuesday where the candates sat in the PADI Instructional Lectures, as well as how to conduct a Confined Open Water presentation, and then proceeded to the Knowledge Review Presentation and the Open Water Teaching Presentation. Everyone has been improving in all the sections as the training has gone on. Saturday and Sunday had us in the water practacing the Confined and Open Water segments to the PADI Assistant Instructor course.
Sunday night everyone commenced writing their General Standards Procedures exam and so far they have all be successful in their training. Next week Greg will be completing the candiates training and IDC. I wish them all the best of luck! Once again congratulations for completing your PADI Assistant Instructor class!
UWE is very excited to announce that we completed our first PADI Assistant Instructor Course. Roger L. did a fabulous job, completing his PADI Dive Master Course and PADI Assistant Instructor Course one right after the other.
In early March, Roger worked on the AI lecutres, and exams, while learning how to properly make lesson plans for Confined Water, Open Water as well and Class Room presentations. Once he had master this section, we proceeded to learn the proper instructing techniques. Roger did a fabulous job with all of this.
Once he completed this intensive three day course, he went directly into his OWSI course. He is currently waiting to conduct his PADI Instructor Exam which is approaching quickly. He will be joining the Capilano University group this weekend up in Sechelt where he will do his IE. Best of Luck to Roger and everyone on the exam!!
UWE and Ocean Quest Dive Centre has started the first PADI Divemaster course of 2012 here at the dive center. We have two students Greg and Roger who have come and joined us for their training, both students have signed up to do their instructor ratings as well, so there certainly is a lot of work ahead of them.
Classes are running at a hectic pace with Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Both students are working hard and doing a fabulous job on their training. With the first exam session quickly approaching, both Greg and Roger have been working hard at learning all the Regulations that apply to the position while learning how to be an assistant in the Open Water training role, and how to become Dive Leaders.
This Saturday past Roger and Greg worked as the Dive Leaders on our Saturday Drop in Dive (SMD). They were tasked to give the dive briefings, as well as lead the dives where they faced various realistic problems with the divers they were responsible to lead. Both DMT’s did a fabulous job, with all be some minor problems that were pointed out and fixed for the next dive.
Well done to you both Roger and Greg, keep up the good work, and I will seeing you in some beautiful tropical location one day soon! Interested in taking the PADI Divemaster Course, or going on the Saturday Morning Drop in dive, contact us at Ocean Quest and let us answer your questions.
