I have to say I kind of lucked out this year. I heard early on, that PADI was running a competition, the Instructor with the largest number
of Master Scuba Diver Certifications, and/or the largest number of Continuing Education certifications for their are would win $200.00 for use at PADI. So, I went to it, teaching every course I could possibly get set up. I taught Deep, Drysuit, Sidemount, EFR, and a large number of Instructor level courses. My record for one course was Jan’s Rescue course, where I had 6 students, who had to take the EFR and I also taught them the Emergency Oxygen Provider course. All in all, I earned 18 certifications for one course with 6 students.
Now I know what you are thinking….if I am doing this large number of courses I must be cutting corners, and if you know me, you will know that is not the case. I will go that extra mile, for the student. For example, when we do a Deep course, we do two classroom sessions, one with the presentation that covers Awareness, SAC rates, Failures, Positioning, Advanced Fining Techniques and many other skills.
During 2013 I was also selected to attend the PADI Course Director Course, I was selected of ne of the 42 people who could attend. I went
through a competition against all of the other Master Instructors throughout the world who applied. This course was taken in the Dominican Republic for 13 days. Excellent training.
If you are interested in becoming a PADI Professional, let me know. I currently have 4 IDC’s planned for 2014. Remember we will go that extra distances to ensure you successfully complete your Instructor Examination. Stop by GoPro-Uw Explorers and sign up now!!
