Lindsey W. PADI Drysuit Diver

UWE and Ocean Quest Dive Centre are very excited to announce that Lindsey has successfully completed the PADI Drysuit Diver course.  She came it us as a Divemaster with no cold water diving experience but a the drive to learn and to see the beautiful things we can find here in the cold water environment.

Lindsey, was a natural.  Once we made it in the water, played with the weighting a little, and off we went.  She had not troubles learning the skills and perfecting her buoyancy.   Outstanding job Lindsey, you certainly did excel at becoming a PADI Drysuit Diver!

Well done Lindsey, I look forward to diving with you again, and continuing to improve your PADI Drysuit Diver skills!

UWE and Ocean Quest Dive Centre is excited to announce that Sean has successfully completed his PADI Drysuit Diver course.  We had some quick scheduling to get done in order for Sean to be able to get is course completed in the time frame he was hoping for, but we met his needs.

Sean did a fabulous job with his training.  After getting all of his gear fitted, we headed out to Whytecliff Park to conduct his dives.  We took things slowly as he had not been in cold water before.  Sean met with all of the challenges and successfully completed his skills dive.

On dive two we headed out to the Anemone Garden, where he demonstrated advanced buoyancy, and we had a fabulous dive, seeing all the cool things that can be found at Whytecliff park!  Great work Sean, I hope we can get out and go diving together again soon!!

UWE and Ocean Quest are excited to announce we have two new PADI Drysuit Divers.  Roger and Mark showed up on Wednesday morning got all fitted up and out we went to the ocean.  Conditions were excellent, the sun was out, and the water clear.  Our first dive was spent in the shallows, practicing skills, to ensure everyone was safe in their suits.

On dive two we headed out to the Channel Marker where we had an excellent dive exploring the area, checking out the fabulous critters one can see at Whytecliff park.  Well done to both students on their PADI Drysuit Diver course!

Thomas A. PADI Drysuit Course

UWE and Ocean Quest Dive Centre are excited to announce that Thomas A. has successfully completed his PADI Drysuit Diver Course.  Friday 25 Nov, Thomas joined us ate 8 in the morning in order to get fitted with his dive gear, and a short dive breathing and it was off to Whytecliff park to do his dives!

The sun was out and it was a beautiful day, Thomas did a quick orientation then we suited up and proceeded to enter the water and get his confined skills done and out of the way.  As we entered the water, we were rewarded with a small Sea Angle, sitting there in 10 feet of water.  I was breathless!  This is the first time I have ever seen one, and they are majestic I must say!!

Well done Thomas great job!!!!

New Drysuit Diver

Thomas M. PADI Drysuit Course

UWE and Ocean Quest and very excited to announce that we have a new PADI Drysuit Diver, Thomas M travelled all the way from Ontario to train with Ocean Quest.  Thomas arrived the day before the dives and we worked together to view the video, and work on the knowledge reviews to get him in a good position to complete his dives on the second day.

On the second day I met Thomas at Whytecliff park, we completed the dive brief and then headed down to the waters edge for the two training dives need to complete the drysuit course.  Thomas was a natural, he easily completed all the skills, so it was off to the fun diving part of the course.

Well done Thomas!!!

Justin M. PADI Drysuit Diver

UWE is happy to announce that Justin has successfully completed his PADI Drysuit Diver Course with no troubles!  He has become a happy Cold Water diver here in Vancouver.

Justin completed the knowledge reviews and video requirements and then it was off to the ocean we went.  Though Whytecliff park is not all that great a place to dive, it sure works well for training!!  Dive one which is the real skills dive, went off with no troubles, and on Dive two we enjoyed diving the left side of Whytecliff.

Well done to you Justin!!
